Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve

Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and drive north via Nanyuki and Mt. Kenya to rugged and remote Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch. At 1600hrs, you will head out on a game drive in the semi-arid park that showcases the unique wildlife that Samburu is home to. In addition to more ‘conventional’ safari animal sightings, you’ll also have the chance to spot the Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, long-necked Gerenuk and Grevy’s Zebra – the famous ‘Special Five’. The park is also home to large herds of elephants, as well as lions, leopards, zebras, and more. After your game drive, you’ll overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge

Day 2Samburu Game Reserve

You’ll have a full day to explore the park in search of its rarer inhabitants as well as the likes of leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes, and more. While Samburu is smaller than other Kenyan parks and reserves, its diverse wildlife tend to cluster closer together near the life-giving Ewaso Ng’iro River. Dinner and Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge

Day 3Samburu Game Reserve to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast at your lodge/Tented camp, check-out drive proceeding south continue on the road through Isiolo to the cooler Mount Kenya/Laikipia region for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drives at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five’:- elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard. This is also home to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species. Dinner and overnight at Serena Sweetwaters Tented camp.

Day 4Ol Pejeta Conservancy-Lake Nakuru National Park

Rise up early for a morning game drive in this beautiful conservancy between 0630-0830hrs. Return to the camp for breakfast, check out and leave Ol Pejeta Conservancy for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive on time for lunch at the Flamingo Hill Camp. Relax after lunch and later proceed for an evening game drive at 1600hrs. The lake is situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. Return to the camp at 1830hrs for dinner and overnight.

Day 5Lake Nakuru National Park-Masai Mara Game Reserve

Rise up early for breakfast, check out and depart Lake Nakuru National Park for Masai Mara Game Reserve. We will arrive at the camp with enough time to settle in before lunch with a little time to relax before we head out for our evening game drive between 1600hrs to 1830hrs. Masai Mara is one of the lushest reserves in Africa, and is globally renowned for the Great Migration when thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle travel to and from the Serengeti, from July through October. In the Mara River, throngs of hippos and crocodiles lurk.

Day 6Full day game drive at Masai Mara Game Reserve

Rise early today for breakfast. As the cool, fresh air fills your lungs you will feel invigorated and rejuvenated, ready for a great full day game drive. Roll down the windows or stand up through the customized pop up roof hatch and enjoy this unhindered 360 views, and the possibilities for what lies ahead. Masai Mara Game Reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings in their natural habitats thanks to its relatively large populations of lion, cheetah, and leopard. We will also see lots of Elephants, Masai giraffe, common zebra, impala, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, Topi, Hartebeest, Black-backed jackal, spotted hyena and more. We shall also enjoy our packed lunch in the game reserve and in the evening return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7Maasai Mara - Transfer to Nairobi

We will enjoy an early morning game drives at 06.30hrs in search of wildlife and then return to our camp/lodge for breakfast and checkout around 10.00hrs. Later leave for Nairobi with stopovers for lunch and/or at curio shops for souvenirs or view features of interest spotted on the way. Arriving Nairobi is in the afternoon. You will be dropped at your Nairobi hotel or at JKIA Airport for your departure flight back home bringing to an end what could be a lifetime experience.
